Making an appointment

How our appointment system works

The surgeries are run on an appointment system and patients can choose to see the doctor of their choice. If this doctor is unavailable, an appointment with another doctor will be offered. If the request is urgent, the receptionist will ask for a telephone number and the duty doctor will ring to assess clinical needs - if urgent, patients will be seen on that day.

Routine appointments can be made up to six weeks in advance.

Do you know that on average there are 97 missed appointments a week?

If, for any reason, you will not be attending an appointment you have made, please cancel so that we are able to offer your appointment to someone else.

Please be aware that we DO NOT operate a WALK-IN surgery at any of our locations.

Choice of GP

Our aim is to provide continuity of care, so we do encourage patients to state a preference for one GP and to see him/her wherever possible. If your own Doctor cannot see you with 2 working days then an appointment with another practice GP will be offered. If you wish to change your preference for any reason then please make your request to the receptionist or by letter to the Practice Manager.
