Flu vaccines and COVID Boosters Autumn/ Winter 2022

We are now inviting patients for 2 mass vaccination programmes that will commence in September 2022 (Seasonal influenza and the COVID autumn booster). If you are eligible you will receive an invitation.

Seasonal influenza vaccination eligibility

• Those aged 50 years and over
• Those aged 5 years to under 49 years in clinical risk groups
• All children aged 2 to 13 on 31 August 2021 (i.e. up to school Year 9)
• Pregnant women
• Those in long-stay residential care homes
• Carers
• Close contacts of immunocompromised individuals aged 5+
• Frontline healthcare workers, social care workers and care home workers

COVID-19 Autumn Booster vaccination eligibility

• Those aged 50 years and over
• Those aged 5 years to under 49 years in clinical risk groups
• Pregnant women
• Those in long-stay residential care homes
• Carers
• Close contacts of immunocompromised individuals aged 5+
• Frontline healthcare workers, social care workers and care home workers

Patients have the choice whether to have both vaccines administered in one appointment or to receive in separate appointments. Both vaccinations can safely be given at the same time. We encourage co-administration, saving you repeated journeys and for NHS staff time efficiency.

We will be running our COVID-19 clinics from Badger Farm Community Centre as before. These clinics will start mid September and will run through to December. There will be a mixture of weekday morning, afternoon, and weekend provision. The centre has ample parking.

We ask that you support your local practice by receiving your vaccinations with us. We have bought in the stock, have the workforce planned and wish to be a part of your preventative healthcare. Funding received to delivery this service will be reinvested back into NHS services for you.

We will be in contact with official invitations mid August. You will receive either an SMS text message with a simple online booking option and/or an invitation letter.
