Flu vaccines and the COVID Booster programme

Over the coming weeks eligible patients will be receiving invitations from the practice for their annual flu vaccinations and COVID Boosters.

Wave 3 of the COVID booster programme will firstly be available to those aged 70 and over, health care works, patients who are extremely clinically vulnerable and patients residing in residential/ nursing homes.  The current advice is that COVID Boosters can be given to patients in the above at risk groups that are six months post their second COVID vaccination.  The practice will do all that we can to invite these patients for both their COVID booster vaccine and their annual flu vaccine at the same time.  This will of course be dependant on vaccine delivery but, we are optimistic this will be possible.

Some patients will be invited for their Flu jab only in the next few weeks but, please be assured that patients that are eligible in the later cohorts for a COVID booster vaccine as well will receive an invitation for this at a later date.

For those receiving a text with a code allowing them to book into an appointment at the Badger Farm Community centre MUST ONLY use this code to book their own appointment. Anyone who is not eligible for a vaccine will be cancelled.

We will of course keep patients updated with any further developments.
