Primary Care under significant strain
You may be aware that primary care nationally is under significant strain, with an unprecedented increase in demand.
At Friarsgate, our automated system alone receives 700 calls a day, and up to 10,000 calls per month. There can sometimes therefore be a queue to speak to a member of our Care Navigation team, who are busy helping patients. 2 weeks ago, there were wait times of up to 20 minutes.
Despite this national challenge, we remain committed to delivering the highest standard of care to our patients. We are pleased to have since recruited a new Care Navigator to join our busy team, and wait times are a maximum of 10 minutes at present, often much less.
We also have extremely good appointment availability – often on the same day at present, both face to face and telephone. Patients can freely choose the appointment type they most prefer.
Gloria is our automated booking assistant. By pressing option 1, you can save time and speak with her to book most appointment types, including most nurse appointments, as well as COVID and flu vaccinations. eConsult remains a very reliable way of seeking help and advice as well.
We apologise for any delays you may have experienced. We continue to work tirelessly to support our patients, and do appreciate your understanding and support.
