Requesting a Repeat prescription

If you are taking tablets or medicine long term, your doctor may arrange for you to have repeat prescriptions. The best way to order your repeat prescriptions is:

The NHS App: Register to use this service by downloading the app via the App store or google play or find out more at www.nhs.uk/nhsapp This App allows you to order repeat prescriptions more quickly and confirms when it has been sent to your nominated pharmacy meaning no need for any wasted journeys to the pharmacy.

We do appreciate that not everyone has access to a smartphone so below is information on patient online access which can be used via a PC or tablet.

Order via online access on your PC or App: For patients who do not have a smartphone this is an ideal way of ordering repeat prescriptions online through your PC or tablet. please visit Patient Access – GP appointments & prescriptions online for more information.

Please remember that for those who struggle ordering via online services proxy access to repeat medication is available with appropriate consent from the patient.

Lets all do what we can to cut down on paper prescription requests to save time and help the environment!

Please order your medication no more than 7-10 days before your supply runs out. Those requests received earlier than 10 days will not be processed.  If you require your prescription early for good reason, perhaps you are going away on holiday for example, please use the free text box via the NHS App or patient access.
