Help us to help you with the NHS App or patient online access for repeat prescriptions

Over the past few years general practice has been extremely lucky to see some innovations come into play that help both the patient and the practice.  One of the most important of these innovations has been the NHS App and the updated versions of patient online access.  These allow amongst other things patients to book and cancel some clinician appointments, view COVID vaccination passports and order repeat prescriptions.  All of this can be used safely, securely and at a time and place to suit the patient.

So, recognising this innovation we are implementing the use of the NHS App or patient online access for all repeat prescription requests and are discontinuing paper requests for those who can use the NHS App or online access.  Currently we receive on average 100 emails a day, usually over 120 paper repeat prescriptions and around 90 prescription query telephone calls a day.  Repeat prescription requests sent via the NHS App or any one of the online patient access services go directly to the doctor bypassing the need for the administrative team to process the request.  This in turn releases admin staff capacity to help those who cannot use the online services or need some assistance with prescription queries.

By not using the paper repeat prescription forms we are also helping the environment.

If you have any issues with the NHS App or the online access services, we will be hosting a talking table on Wednesdays and Thursdays between 1-2pm for patients to come along to main Friarsgate Weeke and we will assist you to get online, including the downloading of the Apps.
